From the Principal’s Desk:
One great aspect of our New Family Info Night, which we held last Friday evening (thanks to the Promotions volunteers!), is the opportunity to refresh ourselves on the “why” of Christian education, as well as the “how.” We looked at the words of Jeremiah 29:11, “for I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future.” For me there’s tremendous motivation for what we do here at ICS in two areas. First, the statistical data from the Cardus 2016 Education Survey continues to show that Christian school graduates “are more likely to attend church, observe religious disciplines, and strengthen their relationship with God than public school graduates. These graduates are also just as politically and civically engaged as their peers from public schools.” It is worth it! Second, I’m reminded by how much we work as a community to make ICS possible. If tuition were to be our only revenue source, our tuition would cost at least $3000 more than it does! Donations and fundraisers make a huge difference. Our Wedding to Remember fundraising dinner this Saturday will be lots of fun, and we pray for financial blessings in that too. Please lend your support, in prayer, as a dinner guest, or as a volunteer helping our FUNdraising committee!
In Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Praying for our parents: Please join us as we pray for Robyn Allison and Dean Mantel.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our Grade 7/8 teacher, Mr. Bierman.

After each presentation, time is given to encourage classmates to share their thoughts with the storyteller about what they liked or about what they wondered. The students have helped bless each other with their kind words of encouragement. Well done Grade 1! A big thank you to all who helped coach the storytellers!

The students had about 4 weeks to prepare for this quiz. Self regulation is the key! Daily 5 is a process of teaching self regulation, which is a valuable life skill. See planners if you are uncertain what is due. Corrections are due by Friday.
