From the Principal’s Desk:
So, what really happens when students are not at school? As our students enjoyed a long Family Day weekend, our teachers gathered for our Measures of Academic Progress PA day. We are excited with how we can see that students are growing in their learning in language and math! We look forward to sharing these results with students and parents in the upcoming weeks. We are excited that math looks strong across the grades! We can also use the information to refine our teaching strategies, to focus more on first-thing-in-the-morning class reading, and to group our students for learning. Without dedicated time to look over the results from each and every child, we would not be able to do justice to the hard work that every child puts into these tests three times a year. Thank-you, parents, for this time to reflect and grow as your children’s teachers!
In Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Praying for our parents: Please join us as we pray for Nathan & Beth Saarloos and Henk & Joanne Schuurman
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our Grade 2/3 teacher Ms Loewen.

2017-2018 Registration: Thank-you to all our families who confirmed registration for next year. That helps us immensely with planning. It’s not too late for interested parents with whom you are talking! We are still seeking JK registrations, and have some limited openings in SK-8.

We learned that the Wall family intends on returning to homeschool for the next few years, but are leaving their options open for our senior grades in the future. The Walls express their appreciation for our teachers, Christian focus and program. We will miss their presence in our building! For all parents who want to complement homeschool, our homeschool partnership is an option.

image1.jpegDo you have any old or broken crayons? Tara Foster, through Tillsonburg Alliance Church, is collecting them for Operation Christmas Child. They will be melted down and made into new crayons which will be put into shoeboxes for children 2-4 years old. Please bag and send in to the office if you have crayons to dispose of!

ARE YOU CREATIVE? Do you enjoy scrapbooking? Then we have a job for you!!!   The Yearbook committee is looking for a few people who would be interested in creating a few pages for the ICS student yearbook. The students love reminiscing about all they have done at ICS.  These pages can be done at home at your convenience so this would be another great way to get some of your volunteer hours in for the school year.  Please let the office know soon or contact Mrs. Cameron at a.cameron@immanuelchristianschool.net so we can begin designing the 2016/17 yearbook.

FFFN - Get ready for a delicious serving of piping hot old fashioned beef stew, with your choice of rice, noodles or quinoa, fresh Iceberg wedge salad and a classic dessert!  It's win win:

3. you are lowering your tuition cost by eating dinner.
See you and the family this Friday 5-7p in the school gym. Share the invitation on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/727312197434155/  #ChristianCommunity
