From the Principal’s Desk:
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Those oft-quoted words are the core of our hopes in establishing, sustaining and celebrating Christian schools! As parents, Amanda and I dearly want all four of our children to be faithfully following their Lord as adults. In doing so, they will be growing the Kingdom in whichever walk of life they are called to. No Christian school is perfect, ICS is not perfect, but we as a community are united in our desire to point towards Christ and His perfection in all areas of education. This time begins our 2018/2019 enrolment, time to both reflect on why we have chosen Christian education as well as engage in conversations with friends and acquaintances - word of mouth is our best advertising!
Supported by Promotions Committee (thanks!), we had our New Parent Information Night this Friday, with 5 brand new families, and several more who were unable to make that night. We are excited by the possibilities of next year’s enrolment, especially Kindergarten. In order to best serve all students and parents, we need to hear from our current parents now. We are asking you to confirm your registration for 2018/2019 using the button on our website by Wednesday 14 Feb. You’ll need to be patient as we’re using our Sycamore information system, and there are more fields to verify and update your children’s information. Tracey at the office will be able to talk you through any questions / login details / challenges you may encounter. Thank-you for your help in this.
Yours in Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Each week, during staff devotions we join in prayer for our parents and staff members. We invite you to do so as well.
Praying for our parents: Please pray for Abe & Kelsey Miller as well as Josh & Judi Milmine.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our Gr 7/8 teacher Mr. Paul Bierman.
Welcome: to Teri-Lyn and Rob Angione with Claire for JK in Fall 2018! The Angiones attended our New Family Info Night last week, and we’re really pleased they enrolled so promptly!

REMINDERS:
EARLY DISMISSAL THIS FRIDAY. With a high school marking day, we will pause to allow staff to review and update our art curriculum. Buses will leave ICS at 2 pm; your child will be home approximately 1.5 hours earlier.

2018-2019 Registration: We are asking you to confirm your registration for 2018/19 by using the link at : Sycamore Online Enrolment Portal by Wednesday Feb 14. Please note you will need your family login information. Contact the office for assistance if required. Thank you for your help in this.

T.R.I.P: Pickup is tomorrow Jan 25th. The next order will be sent out on Feb 1st.

WANTED! We will be looking for new TRIP coordinators for the 2018-19 school year. Janina and Annette have done a great job, and are now looking to train up their replacements. Coordinators are in charge of placing orders, making bank deposits, distributing gift card orders and ensuring stock is available. This is a lot of work, so this is a “paid volunteer” spot.  TRIP coordinators split 10% of TRIP profits, with 50% going to ICS Fundraising and 40% back to individual family tuition credits. The more you put in, the more you earn! Currently, coordinators earn just under $1000 tuition credit each. Interested? Send an application (email or letter) to Fundraising Committee via the office please!

WANTED! Does our Breakfast Program sound like a great idea to you? Want it to continue? We need an additional helper to ensure the future sustainability of this program. The job would require snack planning, shopping weekly and monthly tracking of finances. Our student breakfast team does the majority of daily prep and clean up! Please see Mrs Sue Guenther or Mr Keith Cameron...

Transportation Note for all High School Students: Since ICS has no school (PA day) on Tuesday Feb 20th, the bussing for LDCSS will be as follows: Mrs. Tesselaar’s bus will leave her home at 7:45am (students catching the bus at her house should be there by 7:40am).
