From the Principal’s Desk:
Celebrating what God is doing in our school is the focus of this Christian Education Week. Our students at Grace Community Church were privileged to highlight Christian education at their service on May 1, and we look forward to another highlight this Sunday at Aylmer CRC. A good number of parents were “brought to school” on Monday to join in with normal morning classes. We are in the final rehearsals for our “Not Your Average Joe” drama and musical, and excitement as well as stage props, are growing! We’re conducting teaching interviews for gr 7/8, resource and French for next year - your children may report on prospective teachers in their classes, and we cherish your prayers for discernment. Lastly, as a school, we’ve been able to reach out to a new student: Eesse (pronounced “Eh iesa”) Khalifi is enrolled in our JK class. The Khalifi family is privately sponsored by Grace Community Church under the Syrian refugee immigration program, and is presently living in the former ACRC parsonage. Older siblings have started school in the public system, where the resources for ESL are. Eesse starts with us at the request of his mother due to connections with other students and parents. In terms of program, we are already focussed on words, sounds, letters and numbers at JK. In terms of our witness to Christ, we now have a connection with a family from a Muslim background. How will God work in their lives through us? Welcome!
in Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Welcome to the Khalifi family, with Ahmad and Rabab, Mohanad, Muayad, Fatimah, Mohammad, Ibrahim, and Eesse (JK).
Praying for our parents: Please join us as we pray for Jake & Tina Banman and Dave & Angie Bergen.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our Gr 5/6 teacher Ms. Jones

CEAF and Board Update: The ICS Board met on April 20, 2016. During this meeting we discussed plans for the upcoming membership meeting as well as a lengthy and informative discussion on the upcoming CEAF claim. We realized that the Board members who were affected by this had many questions.  As a Board, we wondered if perhaps others had the same questions? So prior to the membership, at 7:00 we'll have a brief info meeting/discussion for those affected by the revocation of the CEAF charitable stat
us over 2009-2012. The remainder of the board  meeting was updating school policies and reviewing committee reports. The next Board Meeting is scheduled for May 18, 2016.

Whatever work is here to do, I know my God will see me through
No matter what He sets before me,
