From the Principal’s Desk:
Over this past week, I have particularly enjoyed the Raise to Praise devotional, authored by Rev Dirk Miedema. The reading sent out Mon evening declared from Psalm 8:6 that, “you made them rulers over the works of your hands.” The devotional spoke to how, in Christian school, children learn to use all of life as praise to the glory of God. And, I was presented with a personal example at my supper table....
Parents, you will have received a “Connect to Grow” form along with your Term 2 reports. Well, I have a confession… Despite being an author of the form and a participant in the staff work involved in renewing our reporting framework, I was reminded to complete my daughter’s by a teacher note in her planner! Happens to all of us! If you’re in the same situation, I’d encourage you to complete yours too, because, by doing so, I was reminded again by what we value in Christian education. We had our daughter’s report card and her MAP growth goals. My wife and I were encouraged to reflect on our daughter’s strengths at home, to praise her for those gifts used in service, and to consider areas we could assist her future growth. She was also encouraged to reflect on a strength and choose an area for growth herself. Her choice in growth was to work to be a good friend, and to stand up for what was right. All of a sudden, the growth we encourage as a school is put into a new light, one of enduring value, oriented towards God’s ways. No one of us, principal, teachers, parents or students, will gain perfection on this earth, but we are joined together in a process of becoming more like Jesus. We praise God with our lips, and even more, with actions directed in His ways. That’s why we exist as Immanuel!
In Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Praying for our parents: Please join us as we pray for Jeff & Tammie Vannoord and Dustin & Jacklyn Versnick.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our French and Resource teacher, Ms. Smeets.

Meat & Baked Goods:  The MacMillan order pickup date is April 4th 2:30-4:00pm.
Hot Lunches: The ladies auxiliary would like to simplify the ordering of hot lunches for both parents and teachers (and ourselves!) There is an Google form to complete at: goo.gl/eXxFOZ  (also on Facebook) for the hot lunches for the remainder of this school year.  Please fill out one for each of your children and send the total amount of money owed to the office with the payment slip.  This is an experiment to see if we would like to continue this process next year.
Raise to Praise Campaign: We are excited about the future of our school and what God has in store for the families and friends who believe in our mission and want to financially partner with us on our journey.  We look forward to discussing this with you on March 30th during our Call Campaign from 6:30-9:00. Thanks for your prayers, support, and faithfulness to Immanuel Christian School.  We praise God for everyone who makes Christian Education a possibility for our children.

ANSTP_frontcover_CHB.jpgThe excitement is building as we prepare to share with you “A Not So Terrible Parable.” The actors are practicing and the students are learning their music.
