From the Principal’s Desk:
The news is out of our family’s move next year with us accepting the positions at Hillcrest School in Jos, Nigeria of Elementary Principal for myself and Music Teacher for Amanda. We have had very good conversations with many - we will miss this community! We feel that God has worked through all of us as a community over these past 7 years during my time as principal, and since 2005 when our children first enrolled here. For those interested, our chapel guest speaker next Wed Dec 6 will be Kathy Vanderkloet from Resonate Global Mission, who is on home assignment from Jos, Nigeria! She’ll let us know about ongoing work in Nigeria, and she’ll share some Nigerian artifacts with classes after chapel.
It bears restating that we as a community have been blessed in our work at Immanuel, especially as we have together sought God’s consistent vision for the school from our founding in 1954, one of excellence and Christian character. Our Board Executive sits down tonight with Ray Hendriks from the OACS, discussing our new principal search process. We also start that process tonight at our membership meeting as we reflect on the encouraging results from the School Quality Assurance Program survey, discerning what is most important to sustain and build, re-affirming what our vision for Christ-centred excellent education looks like at this moment in time. Join us if you can. Of crucial importance, please sustain the leadership search in your prayers in these coming months as we look for whomever God has been preparing for us!
Yours in Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Each week, during staff devotions we join in prayer for our parents and staff members. We invite you to do so as well.
Praying for our parents: Please pray for Mike & Andrea Klassen as well as John & Anna Krahn.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our Bus Drivers: Mrs.Debbie Atkinson, Mrs. Rita Tesselaar and Mr. & Mrs.Walters. Promotions would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Walters for escorting us along the parade route and thanks to the families that came out to ride the bus and hand out candy. An enormous thank you goes out to the grade 7/8 students who gave up their lunch recesses to help design and paint the pictures for the side of the bus, and to Mrs Carrie Vis for creative talent and enthusiasm! Senior Boys and Girls Volleyball. Great volleyball, ICS girls' and boys' teams! Fridays' tournament saw excellent skills, teamwork, determination and coaching with stiff competition for the banners. In an emotionally charged final, the girls played excellent three-hit volleyball, and dug deep, placing second following a 16-14 loss in the third game against Wyoming. The boys faced a similarly challenging opposition, and took the third game against the St Thomas team to gain the champions banner. We competed hard, played to the best of our skills, and honoured God and our opponents - in elementary sport, many of our players meet again on the same team in high school! Well done all!

Sr. Basketball: Boys and Girls tryouts have begun this week. Boys this Thursday and next Monday, and girls on Friday. No after school practises for boy or girls until the new year.

Grade 3 Math. We’ve started multiplication and division - a goal is to memorize our math facts to 7 x 10. I was proud that our students could “pull apart” multiplication.
