From the Principal’s Desk:
As a principal, I make time to drop into classes and observe what is going on. In the last few weeks, I have also covered a number of classes and taught in addition to my own tech and science classes. There are lots of very good things going on in our school! We don’t all have the ability to “drop in” like I can, but next week there are 2 opportunities for everyone. We have our “Bring Your Parents to School” day next Monday where you will simply see the normal morning classes. As teachers, we are also planning to involve you in “A Day in the Life” of ICS next Wednesday night at the membership meeting. Join in AR reading and class devotions, learn your letters, take a MAP test, check out your Mathletics skills, try 5 minutes of art, music and French! Come and see how “Immanuel Christian School assists parents in raising children to follow Christ with an excellent elementary program and a focus on Christian character growth”!
in Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer

May 2nd "Bring Your Parents to School Day":  This is our annual Spring Open House. The morning offers you the opportunity to take part in your children's school routine. The morning starts with coffee and devotions
with Mr. Cameron at 8:35-9:05, next a visit with math classes from 9:05-10:25 and then after our recess break a visit to the morning classes from 10:40-12:05. We would like to also invite those that are interested in learning more about ICS to come for a visit. We hope to see you there!

Wednesday, May 4th is our Annual Spring Membership Meeting.  7:30pm in the Discovery Room. If you are a member or not, come out and get informed as to what is happening with your school and socialize with other parents. For members without children here, your agenda will either be mailed or placed in your church mailbox.  Volunteer hours: Did you know that when you attend a membership meeting it counts for 2 hours towards your volunteer time?

May 8 - 14th will be our annual Spring Drive.  This is a key, if simple, fundraiser. We ask supporters to consider blessing ICS with a gift, as the Lord has blessed them. Often, it is grandparents and former parents who have the ability to make special donations, and we rely on our current families to reach out to their relatives. Who can you ask?

Volunteer help builds our community, reduces our expenses, and helps build a well-kept school!

Dress Code Reminder: Spring weather is arriving and so is the summer clothing.   As you are shopping for or with your child, please keep our dress code in mind. Our dress code complements the LDCSS dress code. This would apply to all school events including: classes, sports, field trips, and graduation. Our clothing should be consistent with our goal to honour God with our bodies, as we are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor.6:19, 20). This still allows for creativity and individuality, but also requires modesty and an awareness of the impact our dress has on others in our community.
  • Shorts must be “thumb-length”, skirts must come down to at least their knee
  • Tank tops with straps less then 3 finger width, halter tops, muscle shirts, bare feet, bare midriffs, low necklines are not permitted
  • No undergarments should be visible.
Students dressed inappropriately will be asked to contact home to make arrangements to get suitable clothing.

If it ends this way are we gonna be alright
