From the Principal’s Desk:
Thank-you, parents, for your timely confirmations for next year’s enrolment! Early confirmations greatly help our planning for next year. We currently have 128 full-time students forecasted (slightly up from this year), with 7 brand new families, and many new-to-us siblings! We have also learned of several families changing enrolments, including Darrell and Helen Klassen (to our homeschool partnership for math only), and Jacob and Anna Redecop (with Jonathan and Ricky transferring back to New Sarum), as well as one other family undecided for next year. I had the opportunity to chat with all those families and understand where they were at. With our current teaching staff positions, we currently still have some room for 3 day SK, very limited gr 1-4 spots, and some gr 5-8 spots. We are in conversation with a few families, and look forward to see who else God brings our way!
in Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Praying for our parents: Please join us as we pray for Jason & Carrie Vis as well as Jim & Jill Vording.
Praying for our staff:
Other requests:
  • We would also like to keep the Vannoord family in your prayers as Samantha will be having laparoscopic surgery at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto on Monday April 11th to repair a hole in her heart.
  • We also learned of the tragic deaths (in a train collision) of 2 Korean mothers of 4 international students at Strathroy Community Christian School. Let us lift those two families, and the entire community in prayer for God’s comfort amidst shocking circumstances.
Thank you: On behalf of the Buma family, I would like to thank the I.C.S. community for your cards, flowers, prayers, and visits, and for many other acts of kindness shown to our family and to myself, during the recent passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. One of Mom’s all time favourite hymns was a familiar one to many of us, Great Is Thy Faithfulness. With heavy hearts and faith-filled hope, we laid our mother to rest, during the Easter time of remembering that we serve a risen Lord and Saviour. We are truly grateful for your compassion, and for your care.    Ms. Buma

FROM THE CLASSROOMS:
Let’s Connect to Grow Forms. There are still many outstanding - are your children’s forms in?

Master Builders Integrated Study.  ICS Integrated Studies aim to foster positive school-wide, inter-age learning connections. We seek to learn together both in our homerooms and in our mixed grade school families. This spring on five Friday afternoons, our focus is bridges. Bridges, as lasting structures, can tell a story of beauty, material design and connections that link people together. In acknowledging these aspects, we can appreciate our role as builders, and glorify God as the Master Builder. Students will “specialize” in beauty, materials or story, and will complete the unit by sharing their knowledge and skills in their school family groupings. As a staff, we will take this Friday’s PA day to develop and refine our upcoming lessons together.
