From the Principal’s Desk:
Thanks to the Aylmer Area Community Foundation and the Community Foundations of Canada, we are still celebrating Canada 150 at ICS! We hosted the Care2Cycle open house and fundraising cycling ride in September, but only the outdoor classroom was installed then. This weekend marked the installation of the long-awaited Calvin the Caterpillar and Harry the Hippo for our Outdoor Class and Playground Improvements! We gratefully acknowledge our volunteer installation crew of Micah M, Gordon W, Matthew C and my friend unconnected with ICS so far, Johnny G! And, thanks to the Town of Aylmer Ontario for the addition of a garbage can to keep things clean! We treat our playground as a public space and welcome community members after hours. We are all blessed by partnerships like these with our local community. Projects like this connect our students to the Town, and grow our students as caring and responsible citizens! Our playground is modest, but well-kept, fun and inviting, showing the importance we place on both formal and informal learning environments - we care at ICS! Come out and see!
Yours in Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Each week, during staff devotions we join in prayer for our parents and staff members. We invite you to do so as well.
Praying for our parents: Please pray for John & Tina Hiebert as well as Dave & Lori Hill.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our Librarian, Mrs. Nancy Robinson.

REMINDERS:
T.R.I.P: Pickup is Friday Nov 17. The next order will be sent out on Nov 30, due on Dec 7 with pickup on Dec 14.
Picture Day: Absentee picture day will take place on Tuesday Nov 21st.

Book sales: Grandparent’s Day in October was a wonderful time with the Living Books table.  Sales for that day allowed the ICS Library to purchase over $150 in books for the library. The Book Fair from October 31-November 3 was also a fun time.  This sale gave the library another $133 in books and devotionals for each classroom.  Thank you to all who still enjoy reading books.  Tina Vyn, Living Books Rep.

Raise to Praise Campaign UPDATE:

It has been 3 weeks since the launch of our Raise to Praise Campaign and as a school we are so blessed to have a supportive and caring community.  This has been evident in the outpouring of support with a total of $31,630 towards our $40,000 goal!   We completed our Call Campaign on November 1st giving us an opportunity to connect with you and the second round of calls will be completed over the next two weeks.   If you have not received the Campaign package or a call and would like to talk, please feel free to contact Janine Shelton – 519-619-0738.  Please keep ICS and our R2P Campaign in your prayers.  Thanks for your support!

Wanted: Costume Donations Our JK/SK classroom is looking for costume donations for the Dramatic Play area (esp. animals and careers, but no superheroes please). This type of play involves imagination, and results in serious and natural learning. There are so many benefits: teaches self-regulation, encourages language development, teaches conflict resolution, empowers kids to make choices and helps them be more independent with dressing themselves (a great skill as winter approaches!).
