From the Principal’s Desk:
As teachers, we take care in our assessment and reporting of your child’s growth, in academics as well as in character. We’re especially reminded of that as we take a PA day tomorrow to prepare term 2 reports, but your teachers are continually assessing, modifying teaching and working with each child to help them learn. You will receive your term 2 reports as well as our “Connect to Grow” forms before March Break. As partners, we acknowledge parents as responsible for your child’s education. We cherish your involvement in your child’s learning at ICS - please take the time to review that “Connect to Grow” form, praising areas your child does well in, and encouraging growth. There will be an opportunity for conferences with teachers following March Break if you wish. This year, we are particularly excited to be planning a Spring Celebration of Learning on Wednesday April 12. This will involve every student, with your child being your “tour guide” to see what he or she has been learning in class. We will also present our whole-school drama, “A Not So Terrible Parable.” Let your wider family and friends know that this is a date not to be missed! We will have a matinee and evening showing, with tickets being booked through the office.
