From the Board Chair’s Desk:

Principal Search Update #2:  We are pleased to inform you that the Principal Search Committee (PSC) is in place!  This strong committee is focused on the challenging and rewarding task of finding the school’s new leader.  The PSC includes 3 parents who are society members, 2 non parent society members, 2 staff members and 1 board member.  A Prayer Team has also been formed and these individuals will be praying for wisdom and insight for the search committee, for openness and a sense of purpose in the hearts and minds of the candidates, and for a blessing on the decisions that are made.  An updated ad for the available COO position at ICS has been posted, and will soon be complete to include a detailed principal profile.  If you or someone you know is interested in applying for the Principal/COO position at ICS, please email search@immanuelchristianschool.net.
We will continue to keep you updated on the search and thank you for your support through this adventure!
On behalf of the ICS Board, Jacklyn Versnick j.versnick@immanuelchristianschool.net

Each week, during staff devotions we join in prayer for our parents and staff members. We invite you to do so as well.
Praying for our parents: Please pray for Marianne McLeod as well as Dean & Cally Manning.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our Gr 4/5 Teacher, Ms. Tine Buma.

A Very Big Thankyou to Everyone! All of the staff, office personnel and bus drivers would like to thank everyone for their best wishes, treats and gifts received throughout the Christmas season. We truly appreciate all the kind gestures and thoughtfulness and goodwill. The ICS community is truly a blessing to be part of, and we greatly appreciate you!

Does our Breakfast Program sound like a great idea to you? Want it to continue? We need an additional helper to ensure the future sustainability of this program. Please see Mrs Sue Guenther or Mr Keith Cameron...

If you are reading this, you care about the everyday activities and functions within the school.  Thank you for that!  How about considering the next step: suggesting your name for consideration for the ICS Board of Directors.  Selected candidates will have a three year opportunity to be directly involved in the the future of Christian education in Aylmer and its surrounding area.  Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, from 8p-10p.  It is an honour that as a Board member, the ICS community believes in you and your skill set enough that you will ultimately make a positive impact on the organization!  Contact h.friesen@immanuelchristianschool.net for more information or to submit nominations.
Sincerely, your current Board members: Dean Mantel, Tina Hiebert, Suzie Guenther, Chantelle Bakker, Keith Cameron, Rose Fehr, Helen Friesen, Carrie Vis, Jacklyn Versnick.

Winter 2018 Electives Registration - Winter electives are programs for students in grades 4-8 that offer a wide range of activities for students to begin to explore and gain skills found in our community. The program runs for 5 weeks on Friday afternoons 1pm-3:15pm from Feb 2 to Mar 2. Each student needs to contribute $20 to cover costs. Students are requested to choose a first, second and third choice. First consideration will be given to students who choose electives they have not previously done, and to those who promptly return the form with payment. Forms have been sent home this week.

Jump into Kindergarten! Children entering JK & SK are invited to experience the Kindergarten
classroom at ICS. Children can enjoy the morning leaning letters, shapes, and numbers in a Christian
setting. New families to ICS are welcome to attend 2 mornings and existing families may attend 1
morning. The program runs Feb 6, 8, 27th & March 1st from 8:30-11:30am. Please share with
anyone who might be interested. Call to reserve a spot!

New Family Information Night: The new year will start our 2018 registration season. Our New Student/Family Information evening will be held on Friday Jan 19th at 7:00pm. We feel strongly that many of our prospective parents are attending churches in our local area. Advertising in our local churches is very important. We will be sending home an advertising poster and postcards for our Jump into Kindergarten program for selected families (church ambassadors). If your family has received one and it’s alright with your church, we ask that you please post it in your church right after Christmas in time for the first Sunday of 2018. Do you know any families interested in ICS? Invite them, and let the office know!

Sr. Girl’s Basketball:  Our first exhibition game is scheduled for Friday, January 12th at London Christian Elementary School for all who can make it. We will try to leave by 3:15 so we can make it to LCES before 4:00 pm. Some senior students may already be at LDCSS for the Science Challenge and will get a ride from there. There will be two games (LCES and Woodstock) which are scheduled to be done at 6:15pm. Please return forms to confirm ride.
