Friday Family Fun Night
Spaghetti &
Meat Ball dinner 5:30 – 7:30
From the
Principal's Desk:
Welcome
back from the Thanksgiving long weekend! The Fall is a busy period for
all, with few breaks from school. Amidst the business of 3 Thanksgiving
dinners (lots of visiting family!), this past weekend was also a good
opportunity for me to reflect on how thankful I am for our school, and God's
sustaining hand in our work together as a community. It is good
to acknowledge and rest in the assurance that, while we are called to work to
the best of our abilities, our God is our strength and provider. In terms of
teaching, volunteers, leadership, enrolment and finances, as we are faithful to
our calling, He does provide for us!
We
will have our first parent-teacher interviews of the school year next week.
We encourage every family to meet with their children's teachers - this
is a valuable opportunity to connect! If appropriate, especially for the
senior grades, you may also bring your son / daughter along to the interview.
As one of our graduate expectation declares, we encourage our students to
become 'life-long learners' and being reflective on their own work, on their
own strengths and areas for development, is part of that process. I look
forward to making time for a meeting with all our 'new to ICS families' too.
A
final reminder regarding CTBS testing for grades 3-8 next week. Please make all effort to schedule
appointments during the afternoons, leaving the morning free for this important
testing!

Christ,

FROM THE
CLASSROOMS:
School-wide
memory work:
This morning in chapel, we spoke about moving from being a Bystander to
bullying or mistreatment, to becoming an Alongside Stander. We reflected
on what courage is: doing what is right, even when we are afraid. Our
memory work for Oct 17 is Isaiah 1:17: "Learn to do right!
Seek justice, encourage the oppressed."
