From the Principal’s Desk:
We do see God’s favour on our school in so many ways! I simply want to acknowledge God’s blessings in two specific areas this week:
  • Our GST Auction raised an extraordinary amount of money, in a spirit of joy and excitement! We are so thankful for our committee members, our donors of goods, services and talents, and our bidders, and we sustain Christian education!
  • Our enrolment for next year is looking strong, with an increase again in student numbers! Growth is a wonderful “problem” to deal with, and we are seeking early registrations (especially for 5 day SK and gr 1-8 where we have limited spaces) so we can make adequate plans for all our classes. You will see a note below.
in Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Protectors @ Home: “Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed,” (Isaiah 1:17). Our key concept this week is that Bystanders possess the power to do good. Notice the kids around you this week at your church, school and neighbourhood. Look for small and large opportunities to reach out to those around you. Look for ways to help others instead of standing or walking by.
Praying for our parents: Please join us as we pray for Randy & Bettina Poortinga as well as Mike & Anne Reimer.  Micaela (gr8) is still absent from school, and is receiving treatment at the pediatric brain injury clinic in London for post-concussion effects. We covet your prayers for full healing.
Our Condolences: To the entire Zylstra family as Jeff’s father went to be with the Lord on Friday Jan 29th. May you find comfort and peace in this time of loss.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for Mrs. Robinson.
Welcomes:
  • We are very pleased to welcome Josh and Judi Milmine, with Blake (gr2) and Bentley (SK) to ICS yesterday on Tue Feb 2! Younger siblings include Beckham who will start JK in Fall 2016, and Beauden who is 1.5 yrs old.
  • We are also pleased to welcome the first of our enrolments for Fall 2016. Mike and Susie Wall have 6 children, Kolbie (gr8), Renae (gr6), Marcus (gr3), and Aron (gr1), as well as two younger children at home. Mike is a pastor at Somerfeld Mennonite Church, and operates a construction business, while Susie is home maker and home educator. We are also excited to welcome Dean and Cally Manning, with Joshua (gr5) and Wyatt (gr1) who are transferring from McGregor.
Farewells:
  • We regret to announce that Mike and Wendy Abell, with Christopher (gr8), Daniel (gr6), Markus (gr3) and Faith (gr2), have withdrawn from ICS, in favour of returning to their previous schools at Springfield or Summers Corners.
